I understand the coach he wants to put in someone who's as reliable as Oda so they can win the game. This really isnt the way he should have gone about it though. If you really wanted to win then you should have started Oda. Then when you're winning or even switch him out with Ryuu. No point in taking your fucking playmaker out right after making a play. That's just gonna fuck his mental up hard. Hes lucky Ryuu isnt the type to let it get to him. Really awful writing here, author.

Agree with @Abangerz. They should build around the attack if they want to win it. A sub thats a like for like in the same position I suppose is back to their cautious style - rely on counters and the vets.

I don't agree with the substitution and i would like to hear the reasoning behind it. One of the possible explanations is using Oda's speed to catch the other team of guard as they will open up more trying to get a goal, and he switched Ryuu off to mantain the team shape, and also as a mean of testing Oda.
