Welp, I think the author's getting really aimless with this whole thing. I loved the concept and a lot of the ideas but the execution got way, way convoluted and reliant on stock shonen saves and just plain cheap tricks. I think I'm gonna drop this one for a while, and I actually hope the anime tones things down, if possible.
That said, I must say it has been fun, and this is still the best animal themed existential urban fantasy murder mystery action thriller martial arts teenage high school drama crime drama soap opera slice of life comedy superhero political allegory wildlife documentary fable comic I've read this year.
I just hope miss Itagaki finds ways to make her writing less contrived.
