BEASTARS - Vol. 6 Ch. 49 - The Pups Who Transcended Old Tradition

This reminds me a little of when I met my best friend, mostly because we didn't get along at all but I still felt the drive to be with him. Godspeed.

Makes me wonder, there are dogs but no humans, did these get tamed by other beast-speacies?

Who orchestrated such artificial selection??

Also, this chapter made me think of how some dog owners end up abusing their dogs because they can't read their body language correctly. :( Poor things have had assertive "no"s bred out of them.

It's interesting. It really depends based on what you define "intelligence". Because arguably, domesticated dogs like Jack are smarter and more suited to live in modern society. They're kinder and more perceptive of expressions and emotions than wolves. It would make sense he's smarter than other animals when it comes to logistics in this world.

However, Legoshi is arguably more intelligent in the more *natural* department. He's got better equipment to fight etc, so he would be better at physical activities.

Dogs weren't bred for "intelligence". They were bred for stockholm syndrome. They were bred to be eager little slaves to their masters.
And then they were bred some more for all sorts of specific slave-tasks. It just figures that Japan would label that as "intelligence" as being a slave to society is pretty much the height of virtue over there.

what the fuck, humans bred wolves to become dogs, but there arent any humans here, so who said "i want to create a species with greater intelligence"? (even if in reality they were bred to be more docile)
the implications of the kids calling jack "artificial" are blowing my mind

Jack is such a ray of sunshine. Also, babies! Look at lil' Legosi next to big Legosi. Adorable.

Damn, I was actually wondering why dogs
exist in this universe, I'm glad to see that cleared up when I didn't expect it to be.
