I'm really finding it hard to believe that this lady was a middle aged housewife in her past life. I feel like the author was just trying to stick interesting premises to the story to make it more unique without knowing how to write/execute them. "A housewife is a reborn as a chubby side character" but she was barely chubby,never acts like a middle aged woman and has p much stolen all the male leads from the protagonist. The "real" heroine is also written like a typical mean girl thats usually there to make the protag look good. This feels like someone's self insert....

@Yoshitsune Cosette looks, acts, and dresses more like a shoujo heroine, especially in her teenage form here, than the "heroine" does.

Story isn't consistent but I haven't dropped yet because Cosette is likeable.

It's been awhile since I've read it, but I feel like the novel handled explaining this better? I could be wrong though lol
I know adapting things can be difficult, but it is unfortunate when it feels like it has to be rushed a bit so some bits end up going missing...

(Unless it's a series that's supposed to be a companion to the novel so it's skipped on purpose, but in those cases it's unfortunate still since some people just prefer reading the manga version ^{and there's nothing wrong with that} so it's just a confusing mess...)
