@sylvacoer he's fully aware that he has rapists and harassers in his army, literally the first chapter has one of his rapist soldiers talking openly about how they about going to rape MC and the only reason they didn't was because the duke said she should be executed and then decided to enslave her instead.
there are no illusions of a golden army here it's a gang of whoresons and he knows it.

Usually I hate misunderstandings in manga but I can do with this.
No one is actually hurt by the misunderstanding(other than the duke's reputation lol), nor is it stagnating any relationship developments.

The Duke gets exposed as being gay and gets stoned to death since this is medival times and we have to be "hisctoricslllly acutrate"

The country breathes a sigh of relief. No longer will they have to hide there daughters in fear of clown lips going crazy and bitch slapping then. The army falls becuse theres no duke to lead them. The country collapses. Slaves turn k there masters who enslaved them and thers turmoil. Years of war and death later a democratic system emerges. No more slavery. No more rapey men in the army.
