The thing is being gay really wasn't an option for nobility during medieval times. Especially if you are the sole heir to the throne, as you need to produce an offspring to continue the royal family line. You could easily interpret what the king is saying as he is the reason why his son decides to ignore his responsibility as the sole heir to the throne and letting the royal family die with him, quite possibly sending the kingdom into turmoil, all because the king didn't give him anywhere near enough love as a child so he latched kn fiercely to the first person he felt genuine love from.

I can't remember the plot. I can't remember if Trigger always knew she was a girl or if he believes she is a boy but I'm kinda subconsciously shipping them or something. Am I shipping them? Their interactions are just so cute. He's low key a tsundere and she's just has a pure and happy outlook on everything and their interactions make me smile. They honestly have more chemistry than Beatrice and the duke.
