mildly disappointed is wasn't a cute girl...but happy to see anything show up that doesn't follow the most excessively cliche routes...still overall disappointed cause while it avoided the cute girl cliche it still tripped over the demon invader and the starving idiot runs into MC, gets fed, and says important things he probably shouldn't have said cliches and has potential for the demon boy enemy turned ally after a beating cliche to pop up as a direct result down the line
 
Well, this guy put more thought into the slave issue than 99% of isekai MCs.
 
@Acolytus well, slavery is still legal in our world anyway, not the kind of slavery you might think of, it's economic slavery.

Simple example, do you know that the chocolate you ate came from child labor in Africa ? with meager or non-existent payment. is that not slavery ?

@exogriz I think the point MC was making is that slavery is seen as a normal thing in that world while it isn't in our world.

Sure, slavery is still a thing but it's seen in an extremely negative light. I doubt you will find a sane person who will tell you "Yeah, child labor is like totally fine to me".

What weirded out MC wasn't the slaves but the fact that even someone he knows as a moral person sees nothing wrong with them, which is an interesting approach to the subject, unlike the usual isekai MC, who either claims it's pure evil and immediately seeks to abolish it or doesn't give a single fuck about it and buys slaves with no issue.

There's actual slave markets in Libya right now. The one's who don't get sold get chopped into pieces for organs.

After the UN blew through and usurped Ghaddafi, the entire country collapsed and was overrun by warlords.

@Acolytus, sure sane person will deny supporting the notion of slavery, but, most of them didnt do anything to stop it either.

it's simple though, stop using the product that support slavery. such as chocolate products, electronic products, etc.
not to mention products that are made to contribute the genocide in any country. example, israeli products that kill thousands of ppl in palestine.
at least, that's what the common people can do in my opinion :/

as for the MC.... fair argument.
 
I don't know if the slaves in the story are criminals or not, but both china and the USA do still have slavery in the form of forced penal labor.

After. As bad as Ghaddafi was, removing him completely destabilized the region.

Also, Israeli example isn't fair, cause Hamas causes deaths in Israel as well, and Hamas uses human shields.
 
I like this series. I saw someone people complain about the art but the art's fine to me. The girls are plenty cute and that's all that matters :)
