Yes. It is a self-insulting statement. But I have seen stories where the author states.

"XXX is a smart person. Once upon a time, he outsmarted Y by doing (insert 1-3 paragraph long backstory here). This shows you how smart XXX is."

After that XXX shouts out the enemy's strategy to the enemy commander for lowkey gloat like -> "Haha! I know you intend to ambush me here! Correct?" (phrased as a question)

Which is moronic since

1) If he was right, the enemy can adjust their plans.
2) If he was wrong... its even worse.

(The enemy commander heard him and said. "Yes. I am totally trying to ambush you here! You got me!" even though there were no soldiers stationed there.)


Its not as bad here since this author uses self-awareness jokes. That or these are potshots against all the authors with 1 INT score.
