Lately it started to really sink in, just how utterly absurd relationships are in Japanese media. The idea that relationships start with "BEING IN LOVE" is utterly absurd, in particular with adult relationships.
No wonder these characters have no idea wtf to do with each other, their starting point is practically from marriage and bowing down to each others' parents. What happened to hanging out first, to see if they're even into the same things.

@Solipsist Japanese don't know how to relationship? Well its not like everyone can figure out how to get into a relationship or what to do when in one. Wish I asked for help or was offered help cause it was like running into walls at times. I think teaching the rommantically inept how to attract the opposite sex or w.e. Maybe happiness will improve overall lol

I never said the Japanese themselves have no clue about relationships, just the way they are portrayed. It's that overly innocent, fidgety, nervous sort of take on relationships that bother me.
When the manga is about kids, I can at least get it. It's relevant. But when it turns to highschoolers, and then adults...No, nope. That's too childish. That's not how adults should behave.
And then they end up behaving like children...It feels like it has a lot more to do with bad writing and (anime) culture, than with actual reality. :v

I think it has more to do with just recognizing what you want, and that has less to do with classes, and just figuring yourself better. I expect of people who are fully employed and get used to interact with people constantly, to also understand how to convey themselves to others better.

@Solipsist People wouldn't be forced to go to these classes, it would be 100% optional. Some don't know what they want and then there are those who know what they want but don't know how to get it. I have a friend who is great at talking with people and he help a friend who was shy in grade 7 and earlier, but my friends taught him how to make small talk better and recognize things. It worked pretty well, by end of grade 7 he was able to converse casually with anyone and was able to make friends with damn near everyone. My friend also makes a perfect wingman too. He even liked helping the the dorky or nerdier guys by taking them to bars and introducing them to women. He'd either go just him and a couple nerdy guys or he brings some women too. By teaching these guys to interact with various women in social settings over and over they got better at it pretty quick and they were more willing when they were getting results. He would even tell some of the women that he was brining out his friend who has no experience with women, he wants to buy you a drink, but was too shy to approach. It didn't work as well on younger girls, but 23 and up was pretty good for results. I just want people to be as happy as possible. Having services to make people happy is no problem, but plenty of the ones people would love would be pretty costly.

I still think that *getting a job* as a teenager will make you grow enough as a person, it'd be more effective than taking something as emotionally distant as a class. It is also an already available option that exists today, and is easily available for any "shy guys".
