The issue isn't even that the main characters are "dense". It's that, they are emotionally developed as a child. Even if Takeda will realize the feelings of his boss lady, he'd still act the same.
That makes me think that they'd never really date within the story. They'd be at the cusp of dating, they'd dance around the perimeter of it. They'd enjoy the idea of it, they'll have characters converse and debate about it. But it won't actually happen, as these characters are essentially kids playing house. These authors need to go outside more.

Am I missing something here? How do you go from "a devil or mummy outfit being too pervy" to suggesting a maid outfit, nurse outfit or bunny girl outfit as innocent? Like I can at least imagine that he slipped up with the last one, yet the other two before it? Really?

The hentai writes itself. Other than that this is a pretty great read, even if they're both dense, but slightly warming up to each other. If they were less dense that would genuinely improve quite a bit about the manga and it's progress.
