The ending was most likely planned from the beginning because this was about an "arafo-" woman. Arafo- is a Japanese term for "about 40." Arase- is a similar term for about 30. They usually refer to women just below that threshold. And this is a slice of life manga. By definition you get a glimpse into ordinary daily lives of characters. You are not going to have drama or a long build-up into something big. It just caters to your voyeur instinct. So there isn't going to be a grand resolution because there was no similar conflict. Complaining about the ending for not having resolution is like complaining about not having vegan option at meatlover's BBQ. That's just silly.
