The weird thing in all of this, and I mean I guess it's just a writing thing since all Chinese romance drama tends to follow this, is he seems like an asshole from every angle. What exactly did she see in him for those eight years? Did he change at the flip of a switch when this new woman got involved? Everyone who ever slights the protag in these stories seems ultra scummy from the bottom of their heart. Heard to imagine she saw anything in him.

I'd like to see him either become a silent ally, or just peace out entirely. I'm hoping he doesn't become a recurring character like all her other enemies seem to be.
