Blue Lock - Vol. 14 Ch. 114 - Quartet

@jRBN The Blue Lock also saw the record of U20. As Isage state watching record and actual play against them is different story.

@Fo1wS from the beginning, it said that Japanese team is best at defending. So it is normal for this U20's defend level is super good. If BL can win again this team, their value will be proved. Also with this, the match will be more intense and exciting. 😂

Oh cool we finally have a weekly releases again
Thx for the translation!

blue lock project is a super radical concept. but still, they just can't easily overcome the power of teamwork and ideal composition that the u-20 had. I cant wait to see how the blue lock overcomes that.

i'm sorry but the buddha guy is cracking me up lmaooo

@Fo1wS ikr?? if this manga was realistic they'd be investing in making the existing team even better lol. but it's a shonen so what can we expect

@Fo1wS the strikers are the trash, they did not say that the defenders were also trash
that is why blue lock project was made, to select a super striker for the national team

Ohh this will be good. The challenge is super difficult so I'm expecting great improvements from the boys. Go beyond!

Fun fact : d'alessandro retired from Internacional last month , he played more than 500 matches for the club

This was to be expected from the moment we saw the team reveal. Everyone but the defenders looked plain and uninteresting lol

All that was just the Defense. I can smell a L coming for the Blue Lock Boys, not looking good for us.

Thanks for the chapter.

So, it's way too soon to say for sure but it looks like we're going down the "change match-up" route. Aside from Aiku, all the defenders are specialists. Speed type, Power type and... I'm not sure what to call the buddha. Anyway, they could probably do something against these guys if they mix up the players facing them. Then again Blue Lock has always been about surpassing oneself so this could be seen as running away from a challenge. Knowing Ego, he most likely knew his players had no chance against the u-20 Japan as they were but he bet they'd reach a new level before the end of the match and that likely entails overcoming their bad match-ups.

@Fo1wS i think the others already pointed it out, but just to clarify:
japan's soccer is diligent and not flashy, they are stuck in the middle because they have no world-class striker that can actually get them goals. ego's words: the worth of a striker is the amount of goals he can score at any time. so if you put two or three superstar strikers from blue lock on a team with the locking defense already available and combine it with itoshi sae in the midfield, japan's soccer team looks to be unbeatable.

@Clover1987 Oh okay, kinda bad writing then. Was wondering, why they were surprised about the abilities of the U20-team and therefore, didnt have the right matchups for the 1on1's.
