@Tsukinotaku I think it's rather a stereotype? Now in fairness to the manga, all the stories that I have heard from my Japanese teacher who lived there would correlate with those reactions. She joked often that every time she was in Tokyo, there'd be a new trend with skirt lengths.

It took me over a hundred pages to find out one of the main protagonists was a (biological) guy and I didn’t even find out thru the story but thru an extra at the end of the chapter... wow... so when Yugachis friend called her a trans he was being fr damn that’s crazy but ya know I’m still weirdly rooting for YugachixYuuka
