Bokkou

this was a real treat! although the first half is much more compelling the whole thing was still good with great attention to detail

It has its ups and down, sometimes it feels like it's going nowhere and dwindles around, some might say the story felt a bit unresolved or anticlimactic, but the ending really mellowed me out by the end, it felt like the end of a journey. One of a kind story, a must read.

I've read this several times, over and over.
One of the best ending story.
What a great manga

Story is good because it was based on historical events. But due to it is based on real history there are some really bad character designs that is apparent from the first few pages of the first chapter.

The Tcho (Zhao) uniform is just inaccurate. The uniform and armor drawn is from the state of Qin, the one that ultimately united China. Zhao being one of the first Chinese states that adopted nomadic clothing in order to build a superior cavalry force had unique armor styles. More similar to Mongolian nomads than Chinese.

You can see the artist mistakenly used Qin armor by comparing the artist's drawings to the Terracotta Army (https://imgur.com/gallery/vg7LF).

This kind of mistake is akin to drawing US army wearing Nazi SS uniform in a story about WW 2. It is more outrageous because the authors clearly did their research because the history revolving around the Bokk (Chinese pronounciation Muo) is not that well known. The artist either did not consult with the authors or the authors didn't care. Zhao armor and clothing styles is not exactly secret, there are plenty of archeological evidence.

I read this recently and wow, what a ride! Can anyone recommend similar stories, please? Preferably ones that the protagonist isn't an asshole. Thanks!
