On another note, I don’t blame the Japanese for going to the hospital often (real talk, it shouldn’t be as it expensive as it is in America to go to the Doctor for basic needs). My only experience may be manga, but I swear their flu and colds must be some hyper mutated strand. It makes people delirious, causes hallucinations, makes them act drunk, conveniently erases all memories of what they said the next morning, gives them a body temperature that I swear is hypothermia, makes them constantly blush and make erotic noises, and overall looks more painful than it should be.

Apparently it's not "flu and colds" it's Influenza, which is more dangerous? Well, it's worse than what we western people know as the flu or the common cold, that's why the symptoms seem more severe, so it looks like the japanese are weak to diseases, but in reality is a much stronger illness.
