man ! I didn't think Ashley's backstory would be this deep and emotional! now I can't see ashley's face in the flashbacks the same way. his eye were always so... "empty" as if he was beyond broken yet standing proudly
"so impudent and arrogant, he wouldn't know how a man who was once disgraced would act." you bet my boy ! Nobels useally chose death over being disgraced. Watanabe was right not wanting to be involved anymore than that !
then again, ashley was taken by the church at some point, he could've learned about healing magic back then. Are we sure his soul/memories didn't split in two? I want to support Nishina he looked so desperate to prove himself (and too stupid to be lucas) but with this chapter Ashley's character and Nishina's are way too different

Ashley is a chick magnet/womanizer, so of course someone will try to take advantage of him. I must admit he's still a good looking guy before he has changed his new look.

now i understand why watanabe said that about nishina. nishina rly have a different impression abt ashley nad he didn't know a shit abt what the real ashley feels.
