@Wolvenworks if I remember correctly, the "bad ending" waifu (or more correctly the villain) is HIS original waifu. and he never once has any tied with the main heroine in the original story. just small noble that caught in collateral damage after the Villain is ruined.

the MC is a side character in the original game story
he's the joke character meant to serve as "just deserts" for the antagonist

the game is an otoge (a game for girls), so the actual protagonist is a girl
the protagonist of the story is the black haired girl. the MC wants to support her and hook her up with the prince if possible iirc.

@Wolvenworks As people have said, MC has never been after the black haired girl. Though the Blackhaired girl has been ending up around him, he's just her friend. What he's been trying to do is avoid Purple hair turning super evil and forcing them down a bad route. But he's also learned all he can and improved his territory to avoid the bad end. Cause normally they turned into farmers, failed and then died.

@jonsmth Now that Eliza and otome protag aren't rivals for powerful people's affections, I wonder if Eliza's gonne get a bad end at all? Though if she's seeing rivalry in even the blacksmith's apprentice, then our MC may be in danger regardless.

I had a friend who claimed he had performed this phantom punch maneuver before, though I suspect the victims were also intoxicated which probably made it easier.
