There was a reveal in Chapter 20.5 with a few terrorists with what looks like a bunch of giant chicken eggs, and a male half human half chicken mating with a female human woman to produce offspring implied to be the first of the chicken shifters. Shit I'm starting to see parallels with the backstory of the titans from SnK.
