@firecamp 'cept the shop keepers are obviously adventurer level people as well, at least for this chain of stores. As noted by the fact that both the two shop keeps we know have combat ability of adventurers. Also "Shouldn't expect her to risk her life" is just dumb, for many reasons. One, we're not talking about her going in a dungeon, we're talking about her fighting along side the -ordinary citizens- . Or are you saying that she still shouldn't help despite ordinary people being there? Also, it is not an adventurer's obligation to risk their life for her. It is a -choice- they make because their life belongs to them, not her. If she isn't going to be selfless with her own actions, expecting others to be selfless is hypocritical, plain and simple. You act selfish, then you get selfishness in return, expecting otherwise is just taking advantage of people and being total scum.
Wait so the beginning was the shopkeeper originally asking from the adventures to save her “darkness”? Is everyone in this word just shitty? Because it seems like they all have a “do it yourself; we don’t care if you die” thing going on (even the shop keeper herself wouldn’t help with the stampede). Pretty sure if this was done today it would count as cyber bullying (telling someone to do a rescue mission by themselves is essentially suicide depending on who and how dangerous). I have to say it’s pretty sad that you can’t even ask for help this post apocalyptic world that still has tons of humans. Also what even was that pose at the end? She’s way too far gone at this point (mentally).

@Ringz I'm honestly not sure which I'd prefer, if she was basically just saying all this because she's kind of a tsundere towards her colleague and she has to act tough about it when alone to get the bad taste out of her mouth for showing the others her actual concern for someone else, or if she's legitimately just this perfectly selfish merchant. Either one is kind of funny.

@Solaz it was mentioned that growing plant is difficult and there fewer land that are fertile enough for agriculture. Hence the production cost for vegetables were high and it became a luxury. People start to utilise resources and meat based products from the dungeons which are much cheaper.
Those asparagus were grown well because the old man used monster meat as manure which the mc brought. I'm not sure but I think it's a new discovery. I mean normally monster meat would be sold for food but the mc over killed (100 monster/day). There is a limit to how much you can eat. Since they had more meat than they needed the old man made manure out of it.
