Wow that’s stupid. If he had known about it before hand and ignored it, then him apologizing would make sense, but to apologize for something you had no knowledge of, no relation to, weren’t anywhere near, and no responsibility for is idiotic. Now if the author did this purposefully and is planning to explore his budding god complex in the future, then it would be cool, but I seriously seriously doubt they will put that much thought and depth into the character and plot.

@ShimizuA this isn't even a moral value thing, objectively speaking, it's not the MC's fault. Like literally there's no way it's his fault, but he is blaming himself for it. That is called 'self-blame' and is considered a form of self inflicted emotional abuse. Believing that the MC should feel responsible for what happened is supporting emotional abuse. Anyone actually familiar with mental health will tell you the MC's attitude this chapter is a horrible thing to have and it can easily ruin your life. This is the damage that attitudes like the girl has can do to people, self-blame like this is part of the reason Japan has a problem with suicide. So no this isn't a 'difference in moral values' kinda thing. Self blame is wrong and if you someone who suffers from it you need to help them.

I would have very little problem with this arc IF this series 1. Came out more and 2. Wasn't so fucking short. Having to sit through five mini chapters of tantrums is terrible. Even worse is the very real possibility of this brat joining the group. If that happens, might have to drop this one.
