Boukensha ni Naritai to Miyako ni Deteitta Musume ga S Rank ni Natteta - Vol. 4 Ch. 16

@Viakana
well....to be fair, evil is evil.
there's the fat noble bastard trope.
there's the skinnys, bespectacled sketchy trope.
there's the THOT trope.
and in some manga, even the handsome but deep down is an utter scum trope.

really. evil is evil. no relation to the fat.
and also,i'm getting fat from all the vacation dinner.mercy pls.

P.S. : love how your comment goes well with your profile pic

@Mogima Evil isn't really a useful word. It basically just means whatever people want it to.

I think its more fair to say that these tropes exist for a reason. "Sketchy nobles" pretty much run Australia. Nobles being fat is also a sign of their wealth and symbolic of their desires when used in storytelling. All in all its part of the "evil is ugly" trope set. The handsome one kinda fits in too because while handsome they tend to possess "evil traits" that make them look sketchy if you have been "disney trained". The queen from sleeping beauty is a good example.

This has led to serious issues since the real world isn't so clear cut.

@Viakana Because overflowing fat alone is already a perfect visual representation half the cardinal sins. When you're trying to make the lowest of the low kind of villain, it's an easy pick.

Honestly though, I'm completely surprised that [ugly bastard] didn't make comment on what he'd like to do with the three Bordeaux daughters. He just complained that they don't act like common nobility (That's a' hell of a phrase).

Also man, I know she has a pudgy face, but we saw Milly changing in chapter 12, and if that counts as fat/rotund enough for multiple people to tease her for it, then geez.

holy crap is that noble stupid. rather than fucking wait til the high class adventurers are gone he demands they act immediately. what a fucking dumbass.

So I asked a WN reader about the Solomon's demons storyline.

Turns out the demons are
actually homunculi created by Solomon. A rogue wizard was extensively studying Solomon's research and recreating said homunculi, and even built up the Solomon cult to curry favour with the nobles. He was also researching ways to give his demons more stable physical form, namely by inseminating them into captive women so they'd birth demons in human form. Some of the test children born are still human, but with greater magic capability.

well milly, being a bit chubby like that have it own perks you know~ especially people become likely to play with your chubby cheeks :v

Meh, another one of those obnoxious and lazily written evil fat noble...
It's been quite a long time since I found an interresting villain in a recent manga... 😒

@Merilirem: There's also difference in culture.

Like, look at the 7 Gods of Fortune from Japan or Caishen from China, the ones representing wealth is usually depicted as happy plump man.

@Viakana: Counter example:
Marquis Rockhammer from https://mangadex.org/title/14960/chihoukishi-hans-no-junan

And also the current villain is a smug pretty boy.

You'd think after all that time waiting and planning, he'd wait a bit for the chance of success to be at it's highest. But no, he's suddenly impatient about it all and decides to start it when the biggest risk is present.

Well, looks like it's that time again
