Maybe we’re all just edgy memelords that want a more ruthless MC but I’m actually kind of okay with this. Kind. Of. At least MC told the asshole to piss the fuck off and the no balls pussy ran like the filthy headless chicken he is, then MC proceeds to clean house. I can accept that. So, I was pretty much decided that if he saved this bastard I was dropping this. However, with all of the abilities he's stolen from the hobgoblins and other monsters he's going to kill in coming chapters, he's probably going to pass right by that douche in levels. He will almost certainly have a run in with the guy and get the opportunity to kill his sorry ass (plus the partner) himself. I think I'd be more satisfied that way. Just letting some monsters do it for him wouldn't be quite right.
