I feel like they were meant to be destroyed. It was less of an inheritance, and more of a culmination of technique.
"We got this far, so take this and surpass us."
Which of his ancestors would be dissapointed that he was able to learn and defeat their techniques?
Every single one of them was trying to improve their own technique, and surpass the others.
You gotta keep moving forward, otherwise you'll get left behind.
