why the fuck did they armor that thing up... its now either slower than or as slow as the standard unit... this whole advantage at the beginning was as a fast and powerful opponent with great CQC capabilities... now its a walking fortress unless its a foward observer / command unit i cant see this change as a good one

It’s cool to see that this ancient mech isn’t invincible, just notably more powerful in certain areas. I feel like there’s so much media that depict lost technology as overpowered and indestructible, when it should really just be seen as old tech that happened to figure out something missing.
And while the bulk up of armor is jarring, the mech has proven to be extremely strong when it comes to unprecedented horsepower. It’s heavier, but necessary to be armored since it’s the only one of its kind and has almost been broken to pieces the last two times it was used in combat. The mech has high power but low defense, so the logical balanced resolution is to beef up its defense instead of minmaxxing attack and speed.
