The problem I have with this is that it’s a Japanese guy trying to write United Kingdom and European customs and culture. It wouldn’t be so bad if Kubo lived there but he lives in Japan so it’s like an American trying to draw and write Japanese culture and customs. It’s awkward and doesn’t translate or make sense. There’s Japanese morals even though this isn’t Japan.

@Wotz, there's no point in getting worked up about a first impression review.

That's what this topic is for. First impressions. Reactions. To help people decide if they want to read this manga.

And I disrecommend it, because the author clearly can't figure out in the first chapters that the good stuff is witches battling dragons, not dudes who would sniff their own mom's panties.

If it doesn't get cancelled, maybe I'll check back a year from now to see if the author has stopped salivating over high school girl's underwear and found a plot and decent characterization. Until then, you do you, Wotz.

Anyone else reading this, if you want cute witches and decent plot. Witch Hat Atelier. Shoujo, but the art is phenomenal.

There's a lot going on. There are like 10 important characters introduced in one chapter, no explanation for spells or any of the attacks they use . and as a result I still don't care about any of the characters or have an idea of what's going on. Tite could really use an editor.

The story seems really cool but i'll have to drop this one for now

Honestly I just saw the movie and hope the manga gets redone somehow, I feel like this story has so much potential and I really like the concept.

I don't know about others, but I quite liked it. There's certain weirdness regarding rules, though - contact with dragon stated to be a felony, But people just gain overseer.
I'd say that plot-wise it's not the best, but it's still pleasant read somehow.
