The beginning is pretty much the same but yes, is better to read it from the beginning as manga adaptation tend to skip lot of stuffs.

I'm only reading this manga, so my perspective is more limited. The innkeeper's daughter is the best girl so far. In the manga, she's the only one not looking down on Slow and only expecting the worst from him.
