I still view Charlotte to be worse than Alicia. At least Alicia openly dislikes Slow, whereas Charlotte is seemingly all friendly, but in reality she has zero faith in Slow, and is subtly letting him hear about it every now and then, while maintaining a smiling face. It's even worse Slow actually loves her.

@comeonnow0 It's probably more difficult to change your opinion on someone if you know a whole lot about them, especially what they are going to do in the future. You suggest Slow would find it easier, but I claim it's the opposite. Slow must have felt like there was no need to reevaluate the dude because he already knew what the man was all about.

Don't forget that living with a knowledge of a dangerous future is not easier, it's more stressful. It's easy to watch an action anime, knowing the MC will survive and win, but it's a lot harder to live through it, with no fancy deus ex machina saving you automatically because you supposedly must survive till the end of the last episode. Especially since Slow is actually changing the plot.

This enemy is so lazily written that it is absurd. He's got sad backstory and when current actions didn't fit into a plot, he was forced to act in specific way (I have to kill MC because reasons, Now I am friend with MC because reasons and I will die because reasons).

Both FMC kind of put me off. Princess is definitely better option for a story and in reality. She hates MC because of MC's actions. That is all MC fault. She still gives him chance but development is slow but stable. While on the other hand his maid, keeps a secret that would and will kill everyone around her. Is passive aggressive and story wise there won't be any further development in MC's and her relationship.

@zeroxjac Throughout the series she has delivered lines suggesting she consider Slow a hopeless person, and now that Slow is trying to change (after the isekai takeover), she doesn't believe in it. She's not outright badmouthing him, but she's indicating it otherwise. I'd need to reread the series to point you to specific scenes, but, alas, I'm not currently planning to reread this.

@Kaarme i always thought that the reason for that was the previous offences of Slow before the takeover, a person usually cant change overnight so her doubts are understandable, remember that previous slow was trash as a public figure and his only good side was hidden from everyone by choice, he tarnished his name to be able to be by her side and fought alone to protect her but all that was done in the shadows and he never revealed it making him look like a hopeless person.

@zeroxjac Oh, yes, I'm not denying that at all. She has a very good reason for it. However, it's kind of troublesome for this new isekaied Slow, who can't change the past and can only deal with the consequences. So, regardless of why Charlotte is how she is, it doesn't change the outcome. In my opinion, she should end up with the (original) hero, or someone, whereas Slow should pursue a person who's either not at all judging him based on the old Slow's behavior and personality (might not have known the old Slow as well as Charlotte or Alice) or who's actually ready to accept how he's a changed man. So far Charlotte hasn't been accepting anything. She has always humoured Slow because of her position of a maid/servant, but that's only on the surface. This new Slow is nothing but one of Slow's whims, not likely to last, as far as she is concerned. It really is a pity he loves her. If he could let her go, they would both be happier.

@Kaarme that would be kind of hard considering his family standing and his own reputation, remember he was a gifted genius at young age and his family has a long standing tradition to be knights serving the kingdom so for better or worst he is a well known public figure, also remember that he is bound by the wind spirit king or something to have her at his side and protect her, you know there needs to be a process to have a good relationship but its hard to have someone in a neutral stance when you already have a track record of being like the past slow, its unfair for the new slow but there is little he can do about it, what we have here is someone (Charlotte) who has seen only the worst of him slowly (freaking SLOWLY) looking at him in a new light and eventually fall in love unless someone else comes and the autor pull the rug on us but as of now this is the only posible outcome.
