Bye-Bye Mitsubari

Good old fashion fluff. Characters are likable. Honestly wish there was abit more to this.

If you like arrogant, pushy, rude, inconsiderate asshole male leads who bully the girl they love and treat them like a servant or worse, a dog on a leash, then this series is right up your ally. This is an huge disappointing embarrassment of the "childhood friend" genre.

It's by far not the most offensive of all the "I guess I'll fall in love with the selfish asshole who's pursuing me" series that I've read—but it's definitely of that genre.

It sort of feels confused as to whether it wanted the guy to have character growth or not, but it seems to sort of settle on "not" in the end, alas.

Very cute. A lot of mentions of the selfish asshole trope, which I can't fully deny, but this one was done differently and I kinda felt a bit better about it. If you want to look at it through the lens of an irl relationship there's plenty of unhealthy "pushing your will on the other person" stuff to unpack from both characters, but this is fiction, and the way it was done here gets a pass from me at least. It was a cute, kind of childish little read with a surprising lack of any kind of romantic contact between them. It felt kiddish, but not in a bad way, because the characters are kids too.
