Yeah, I lol'ed at that part. I was always thinking about how would Shinra and his wifey would go about being involved in the problem again.

@Haremmony no, there is another case with the novice investigator where his pay is a cake and a weird pebble (IIRC)

@Haremmony In addition to what Yanagi said, chapters 31 and 76 also have Shinra accepting food as payment. He usually accepts food when he helps out his schoolmates with trouble, since they can't afford antiques and the like.

@Yanagi, in that one case, the food was "forced" on him XD.
@Gent, You're right, i forgot that Shinra does usually asked for food/snacks/sweets instead when the case involves his schoolmates' hijinks. Tho, after rereading those chapters you mentioned (in chapter 31 Shinra didn't ask for food though?), i think this chapter is the very first time when Shinra actually didn't asked (directly) for the food compensation before escorting people to the Wunderkammer.
