It does feel super abrupt, but also more than pacing, I feel like it sorta cheapens the emotion to make it reactionary based on some third party. Would two compatible people on a deserted island not be able to fall in love without jealousy? In a krishnamurti kind of way, I feel like the love triangle only detracts from her journey of self-realization.

She is not going to be an important rival, because Honda obviously only has eyes for Sakurai. However, she is a cheap plot device to make the MC realise her feelings by of course jealously, because that is the only way to realise you like someone apparently.

I do like her design as well mind and I hope it's plays out a lot better than I am expecting it to.

Look, it's not that I have seen the "introducing a new girl character to make the indecisive girl experience jealousy" plot point a few dozen ti... oh, wait, I have. Three times just this month actually. All of them in yuri manga.

Buuuut, I'm hoping this can be handled in interesting way. Whispering You a Love Song, for instance, recently made the "new girl character" extremely understanding and supportive of her crush going out with the other girl, and that was refreshing to see.

If Isayama can set things up 200 chapters ahead, surely other mangakas can think things through at least 5 chapters in advance, I'm not a fan of sudden tranfer students out of nowhere, though truth be told, I don't care as long as I can get at least a bit of yuri moments and no axe the moment they confess or whatnot.

Here i thought the manga was giving good premise, they had to do this.

Sorry bit emotional, i just hated how this turned out.

Now the killing mood thing is that we're going to get (50%) shitty chapter with her after waiting like 1 month per chapter.
