Historical drama. The main character was Japanese in a European country (France I think). He was a swordsman or a mercenary for hire, and the only plot I can remember in an upcoming war. The first pages are these shots of a before and after the character shooting a gun. I remember other characters assaulting a woman and he rescued her. I was pretty sure I saved it under reading later, but I can't find what I'm looking for after searching through all the saved manga.
