Change World

Minaduki Yuu's masterpiece. My second favorite, after Sayonara Game. As usual, the plot is quite simple. But Minaduki-sensei put her usual nuanced feelings and in-depth characterizations. And there are plot twist in the end! A really nice surprise 😊

I had a feeling reading the sequel was possibly going to be a mistake, but, really. It took a lot to wade through the middle part of this.

I hate it when a romance author's idea of introducing tension is to bring in an evil asshole and then have the characters be wound around their fingers and to some degree self-destruct for some inexplicable reasons. Thankfully, this isn't the worst incarnation of that, but... There's a nice enough story here to be told about their uncertainties and trials and tribulations, and this actually does a lot of those parts relatively well, but it's kind of annoying when it's overshadowed by some artificial high-tension conflict.

The bits after it finishes up with that are nice, though.
