Fun fact: back in the long long ago when English still ended words with e's, king was actually not a gendered word. The king was the primary ruler of the nation, and the queen was their spouse that married into the royal line, regardless of whether the king was male or not.

@unime I was wondering the same. Often ducal houses have a family connection with the royal bloodline so I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. Like Jeffery might be the uncle (or granduncle) of this king or something like that. I also really enjoyed how Dan calls him Grandpa LOL.

Oh it took me way too long to realise why the art style was so familiar. I was on my way to loving this series before but now that I know it's the author/artist of Black Haze I'm super hyped!! @blob He kidnapped greyish hair, didnt go for the golden eyes, but in chapter 19, the ruler of the country points out the hair and eye combination, so it was just dan being absolutely stupid and only going for hair colour. It seems like it is a rather unique feature, so ye, Dan the moron.

@chet31 went back to ch 7 and it says they were looking for both, and it also says “silvery brown hair and golden eyes. How long has it been since I’ve seen someone this perfect...!” Which in my opinion implies that while it is indeed rare they got some like this before. But it might just be the translation.
