A country, that gives in to unreasonable demands, is done for in a world, in which countries can threaten war for such reasons. They want war? Give it to them and make it as ugly for the higher ups as possible. Send assassins to kill the nobles first.

@Qelix I mean, it's just as Jeff said, the guy can fire a meteor on their country. I don't know if this is completely right, but Jeff's kingdom is more of a "warrior" one while the one that declared war is a "magic" kingdom. So, I guess they don't have much option. Even though Jeff might be able to stop them, he won't be able to stop the destruction.
Anyways, it's all for plot.

@Ribath: hmm, sure, but if they go through with that demand, then there is nothing else left as to remove that danger. Either by "nuking" that other country first with something they develope on their own or building up an "alliance against tyranny" with other countries and then attacking. Such a situation is not tolerable. I wonder why they don't have any countermeasures? If a country can launch a meteor on my country, first thing I would develop is either a shield or something to brutally retaliate. Not nice, but evil wins out if g..other evil doesn't retaliate.

Ok so. Since we do not currently know how people in this world age nor how long they live for. And for Lotie who is currently (apparently) a total of 129 in a 16 year old body, is it still age appropriate for her to date a... Ok so "Grandpa" can be anyone between 40 and dead, but lets just say 50. I would more be hoping for her to find someone around the age of her body so they can grow old and happy together. But that person doesn't exist as of now and she keeps getting thrown between her moronic apprentices, so ye I guess. Jeff is the best out of what we have seen. Man things are complicated when we cant tell the age of people since they are all 10/10 perfect look wise, nor do we really know ANY lore from this world except magic exists.
