That line about her reconsidering if the Emperor were to apologise was completely out of line and honestly only there to set up the reveal.

It doesn't matter who apologises, the fact is that they willingly and knowingly put these peoples lives in danger, knowing full well that they themselves could be saved at any point.

Obviously there's not much point in retaliating considering the large number of guards there, but honestly expected a bit more wit from these guys ...
