I’m curious why this gets its own separate spinoff and isn’t a later arc in the main story. Maybe they plan on having the two fight multiple times through multiple worlds?

@Alyseb630 From what little i can glean from the story and teasers,it's probably because it's gonna be really long-winded. This world may be ancient but notably, it is not magical, and the OP superpower the scumbag was handed was an indestructible body. Notice the black wings occurring in the teaser? Likely the scumbag managed to gain another, darker system after his 'defeat'

(the quote marks being that he's only a vessel for another agent to use and not an actual agent. Hence it wasn't an actual defeat as his agent himself kicked him back when he realized that someone was fucking up his mission)

So essentially, the agents are gonna clash once, and from what i know of the teaser, they are then going to have to work together to stop the scumbag from fucking everything up MORE than he already has.

Past a certain point, from what i know, yes. They seem to essentially originally clash and due to the scumbag here, they need to work together to make sure the situation doesnt fuck everything up. This is mostly my hypothesis from the teasers and some spoilers i've seen though, the author hasn't even actually reached that point.
