Since this is a decent place to discuss this, I want to share my opinion on public breastfeeding. I'm not really against it, but I'd rather the moms use a nursing cover since being topless even though they're clearly feeding babies is not common publicly where I live. I was looking up indecent exposure laws once for a different reason, and it's not actually illegal if the mother and child are allowed to be in that place.
However, if I were breastfeeding a child, out of deference to others, I would cover up and choose somewhere secluded if possible. Like, I heard a story about a woman breastfeeding, but she didn't really want to do it in front of everyone in public. The place she was at had a couch in the women's bathroom for this purpose, though it was in full view of the women going in and out of stalls. At least one woman hassled her about it, and I don't think that was fair. Sure, other people could see, but that's the best place the mom could go at the time.
And if your baby is old enough to be weaned and eat not only milk and baby food —like they have teeth and can talk—still breastfeeding them is kinda weird. Once my bro, sis, and I grew our teeth, Mom didn't like breastfeeding us anymore, lol.
Ideally, breastfeeding moms could just walk around topless with their babies nursing and no one would care, but the world is not ideal.
Short trauma story: one time when I was a kid, I accidentally saw under a breastfeeding woman's cover and her nipple area was hairy and I vividly remember, 20 years later. It wasn't her fault: I only saw by accident.
