My gusse would be a mix of bad artist interpretation / unclear directives as the customer admitted to having 0 fashion sense and the focus being on function over style ( the enchantment )
Her family is famous for being good at making durable clothes from how it was explained, if so in theory it does not require them to be pretty to be sold.
Considering her scumbag parents, its also not impossible they just half assed it and they do in fact have some skill.... Because he would not care as long as its functional....
Even if it would be abit out of character for how prideful they are....

It's most likely they are totally useless like i mentioned in the second row.... They basically make body armor and not "cloths" so it's likely her dad is useless at makeing pretty cloths.
Considering it took him 3+ years to make a single order.
Its abit strange however that they did not bother getting better at the craft.... but i gusse you can throw it up too a mix off sloth and pride
If i am right her dad is pretty much the textbook chase of all 7 sins.
Gluttony :He is fat so likelly eats too much... Gluttony is over-indulgence or lack of self-restraint, and can be things other than food btw ( even sex and desire to gain/spend money )
Greed : self explanatory
Envy: He gets mad that somebody get a higher status than him and plots to indirectly kill them over it, also counts for Pride
Pride: see above.
Anger: He hits his family on a regular basis, also see above
Sloth: the reason he got demoted was because he was lazy and is most likely bad at his job, something he could easily fix if he actually bothered to practise.
Lust : Lust is the one sin we have yet se him express in excess, but on the other hand sex is also one of the most basic human desires and considering his track record i dont put it past him.

I mean I don't find it pretty either but fashion world nowadays is just weird.

I can't believe her family is selling such horrendous clothes and still have any sort of respect to their name, not to mention it being worn by royalty. I feel like this is heresy and grounds for treason... (;0x0)

A former king with no fashion sense? Or a victim of a cruel joke? Isn't he also too young to be a former king? What kind of a Monarchy does that? Or maybe he was forced to abdicate because of poor fashion sense?
