Chihou Kishi Hans no Junan - Vol. 5 Ch. 35

500 years? Will the girl even survive? Or is that a mistranslation of 5 years or something?
So the summoned/transported included parallel worlds, this will be fun.

Funny enough this is the second time I've seen "500 years" and had to ask if it was mistranslation of "5 years" this week.

They're immortal, so even if it actually is 500 years, they'd be fine physically. Remember, for them, age is considered a status ailment that they automatically recover from over time, just like how Koushirou started out as an old man and then got younger.

@Guspaz It was treated as a status ailment when they each first arrived as part of the process of making them not freak out about being in another world and getting powers, but no evidence so far suggests they're constantly "healing" stuff like that even now. Kyouji at least suspects that they're probably going to age again, since he assumes the dwarf smith will outlive him.

@Glomoro There's no evidence that age wouldn't continue to be treated as a status ailment over time. After all, they still have their RPG-like status windows, they're still engaged by whatever game system. If they aged, at some point you'd think it'd be considered a status ailment again. They obviously seem to think 500 years is a survivable timespan for them, per this chapter. I don't remember the thing about the dwarf smith, but if hey really did make some sort of explicit statement there, then I'd just argue there's conflicting information. And heck, Kyouji's power is literally healing.

@Guspaz My point is that the assumption that they just passively clear their own status ailments forever and always is currently unfounded. It's not uncommon in isekai stories for someone to be given a younger, healthier body in the new world. But if they had some passive ability against all status ailments or an immortal body for some other reason, it'd probably show up in their status screens and they would've said something about it because that's a huge deal. They've never said anything that specific though. What they said was that they wondered if the old man's age was treated like a status ailment, not that they knew this was specifically what happened.

Then there's various other things that come to mind regarding things that would probably also be status ailments, such as alcohol still getting them drunk, the mage girl knocking herself out with bad forest food, and one of them from a later chapter when
the new girl who gets a bunch of status ailments while she's trying to get to the nearest settlement. Her power specifically suggests that she should acquire a skill to nullify the paralysis, poison, and sleep effects she just had placed on her. This seems pretty redundant if they're passively treating status ailments all the time anyway.

The 500 year sentence doesn't really say anything about the Japanese characters expected longevity, either. This country has races in it that live longer than humans do, such as that dwarf. It's possible their laws reflect that based on the severity of the crime and how dangerous an individual is. For severity and danger level, attacking a high ranking noble with a massive magical attack is pretty damn bad. Also,
later on they've started offering to take time off her sentence for helping them out with stuff and showing she's not a problem. Kind of reminds me of the Suicide Squad. But she screwed that up pretty badly and only ended up reducing it by a year the first time out, because she broke rules and acted like a crazy person again. It might be that this was always their plan. Offer her a path to early release from an unreasonably long sentence by proving she can actually behave herself.

Can’t we just admire how cute Kyouji is :)

Let’s all wish he find comfort in a strong man’s arm.

So Kuro can go full humanoid as well..
Ponders who else is in the game version that she spoke of.. A younger Hans?
