From the theme of loneliness I guess the little high school girl is in coma somewhere, having tried to kill herself because she was lonely neet herself (or just sickly and lonely or something). So now they'll befriend each other and once neet girl is cured of her neet-ness little girl will go back to her real body they'll meet up and be ... same-size friends, having saved each others' lives.
