Honestly Chun could be lying about her past, since she wanted to get the fuggg away from the Queen, although she gets a lot of dosh from her.
The best way to get away? By making pity stories, so she could appear cursed and hoping it would scare Alice, but it seems the opposite happens.

I wonder if part of the reason Chun wants to leave is that she considers herself walking bad luck, and doesn't want to drag Alice into anything.

Or maybe I'm overthinking it and she just wants to get out whilst the going is good.
