Edit: So I think everyone agrees taking her home is bait. It's clearly intentional by the author to be bait with the boss. My problem is that he doesn't make it remotely plausible, but the laughs aren't played up either. The best harem right now, 5Toubun and Study, are ranked so highly arguably because people feel it's plausible for MC to end up with any girl. I am looking for something like that when I see bait.

In other words, if the author is going to bait us, make it good bait where I can at least entertain/imagine the possibility. Right now, it feels like an attempt at cheap rise -- But I still enjoy the majority of this manga even if stuff like this falls flat.

God, I wrote this and now I'm thinking the author is meta. His intent is to show us the MC's awkward fail because the MC/manager think it's going to work. Problem with this is I can't think of an audience who would relate to their situation of thinking it might work. Idk.

Lol this reminded me of my first job working in retail. I would have talks like this with my boss and coworkers all the time, especially when a new, cute girl would start working. Never got to the point of love, but I did manage to get into a relationship with one girl for a short while before we figured it wasn't gonna work out. I like this manga cause it reminds me of my early adult days so cheers!
