If you don't realise it yet, Horikita got favoured in the anime and the director made her became the main heroine (she was more like a deuteragonist in the LN). She also stole all spots that should had been for the other girls in the anime. So if the event was supposed to be for the other girl (like this chapter), the director changed the story so Horikita would be there instead instead of that other girl (in this chapter, Sakura is the other girl).
The most-likely true heroine would be later introduced (although she already gets introduced) after this arc, but I haven't followed the LN after vol 8 so I don't know what's happening right now.
