The concubine he favors is vicious and is the reason behind most if not all the attempts on the MC life. She only got her position because she seduced the emperor as his nannie so from the point he was really young.
Far as I am aware it gets worse circumstances is he might still be pure saving himself for his favorite concubine, part in why she plays oblivious is because she is balancing out so as soon as they get married she seems to want to kill him and take over the whole kingdom...

Just to clarify, he brother is the one helping her and additionally not confirmed this but she actually prefers the emperor older brother
Either way his emperor growling attitude might be mainly sexual frustration, he wants the empress gone so his favorite consort can take her place and he can make and heir already which I just find plainly funny

I still find it remarkable that you got so many rapist type ML and this one is getting so much crap for having some snide even tho he does it so cutely <3

I thought he was like 20 and frankly a twenty smth saying shit like that to a perfectly innocent person just, ain't it. It's probably also the fact that he just, ain't cute when he does that to most ppl. I just remeber him being super smug looking when he was first an asshole and that just sticks with u.
