I'm pretty sure that shes alive. I just think her state is going to be worse than how some slaves get treated... I mean, It wouldn't make that much sense for her to be dead. There is a war going on and she's leverage to keep the 2nd prince in a tight spot and if shes dead the 2nd prince doesn't have to be as cautious towards the rest of the royal family anymore. However, idiots never fail to be what they are... I.D.I.O.T.S. So, the king/emperor would totally just let her die.
