Danshikou ni Dokusareta Otokonoko

character: I'm a boy in an all boy's school and strive to be masculine despite my girlish looks
sjw translator: Did you say girlish?
translation: THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY THEY

I mean, devil's fuckin advocate, the appeal of the otokonoko genre in many cases is their liminiality as gendered subjects? Like, take Prunus Girl: despite the fact that Aikawa's a He/Him Pronouns-ass bitch that's specifically ruled out as a trans girl on more than one occasion, his boyfriend still hits him with the "wow queen, you're the best of both worlds" in the confession scene. Honestly you dudes who insist this genre is uncorrupted by Decadent Western Gendershit look just as stupid as the dudes who insist this shit's not gay.

All that said, this clearly isn't fukaboku, is it? What's his face's disbelief that he's hot for a boy is quite clearly a product of his own hangups rather than any particular gender weirdness on the boy's part.

How about you roll it back a tad Joyce? This aint your freaking tumblr blog, so streamline those idiotsyncrasies a little and act like youve been in a conversation before.

Friendly reminder to chill the fuck out, thanks.

@blazjon
Akira doesn't want to be manly, he's just uncomfortable being lewded by his classmates. The TL was using they because they thought it would better fit the main MC's mental battle with trying to solidify Akira's gender in his brain because of how androgynous Akira is. There is no SJW stance about it

a few people complain about a shitty, subjective and clearly political choice in translation and you act like people are starting a riot. If this is mad then I wish I could have an existence as sheltered as yours.

I've often seen these types of things happen to boys who cross dress or look feminine.. always being turned into women for the convenience of cumbrains and degenerates.

...so, the dude is a dude. Go to a dude only school. Doesn't have any confusion regarding his dudeness. Got jealous because his classmate is a Normie (has GF) Yet the translator is still using "they". Hmm... Hmm... HMMMMM.

@Nyaaa The TL already switched to using he/his if you read the latest chapter carefully

what i learned from the comments is that people aren't complaining about the story also people who probably have similar political views will still try to cancel each other

@Plykia I've just read the newest chapter... But now the MC's childhood friend confuses me. He was not that intense before. Not that I'm complaining it's funny. Their dynamic.

@Nyaaa
Both of them have gradual personality changes if you go through the chaps, friend going from surpressed thoughts to openly thinking about it

and akira going from pouty upset to blushingly happy

Isn't Danshikou ni Dokusareta Otokonoko is the right title/pronunciation? I'm not complaining but the current title does bother me a bit

This starts off feeling really unfinished, but it gets a lot better later on. I'm still not feeling it, it's a bit too focused on lewd side of the boys, not my taste really.
(Also, the gender discussion in the comments has nearly nothing to do with the manga itself, more with the personal views of the commenters. To me, either "they" or "he" fits, it's open by context, could be either, but either way it would hardly change the manga.)

I was actually more interested what the fuss was about, just to find out it's essentially nothing... Eh.
