true, unfortunately he and well everyone in the story will religiously hold fast to their flaws without an iota of change. At least that's how it went with the novel. That even got an official English translation.
Like take the mage & knight lady, they can stop being vague and explain their abilities and limitations clearly but they won't because the author loves to drag things out. Take the whole hero gender thing... will take awhile before that gets revealed.

I think frustrating the audience is funny for the author.
