It's a bit weird, but it almost kinda reminds me of the naive non-killing superheroes compared to say, the Punisher. Batman beats the crap out of the Joker, puts him in Arkham. Okay. He always breaks out, because reasons. Then he goes on a killing spree until Batman punches him again and throws him back in. Rinse and repeat.

Meanwhile, the Punisher just fucking ventilates some guy. Does he maybe go overboard at times? Is it sometimes excessive? Yeah, sure. But is it also a permanent fucking solution? Also yes. Dead problems tend to stay solved. It's this "magic is friend, I beat you so you must become my friend" shit, too. I understand practicing restraint and forgiveness at times, where it seems applicable. But to run across a wounded dragon that is a known monster that kills and eats humans without reason, only an idiot would think it needs to be saved. Unfortunately, our MC is that idiot.
