I’m not sure where it was confirmed. Yabuki only said on that manga page that he can do whatever he likes to. There was no mention of VIRM being or no.

Yabuki says he has creative freedom with the manga, and anything is better than near random aliens.

So I know its deviating from the anime a bit so we will hopefully get a happier end with Hir02. I can dream. Due to the what if route do you guys think they'll still include all the remembering each other parts that Hir02 goes through at some point and will they still get together?

I'm surprised in the manga that the Nines are acting more human like caring for the rest of the squad to the point to save one of the teammate, compared to the anime.

Is that true? I mean, if we somehow follow the anime, it's still quite far from when we get the revelation that they were aliens infiltrating among humans.

@KN-XIII Yeah, the character development is much more fleshed out with the side characters, at the cost of changing up certain events for the MCs (i.e. modifying Hiro/02's 2nd and 3rd rides, excluding Mitsuru). Instead of stock a**-hole obstacle for the MCs, the 9's are shaping up to have nuance and their own motivations. It's better story telling so far.
